I’m excited to announce that my first book, Chisels, Ideas that Shape Who We Are, has been released on Amazon!!
This journey started more than 10 years ago. I was meeting with each of my kids individually for breakfast and Bible discussions. It was a sweet time. They were willing to get up early (before school) to talk about Jesus and eat some breakfast. I suspect it had more to do with Chick-fila than Jesus, but that was alright with me. I still got to talk about Jesus with my kids. These meetings were always some of my favorite experiences of the week.
This book began simply as a list . . . a list I started creating about the things I wanted to talk to them about. It didn’t take long before I started realizing that I was enjoying my prep time for those meetings. As I worked through an idea, I really enjoyed looking up Scriptures and trying to recall the old stories that might help them connect. I also discovered a love for quotes and found myself searching for the perfect ones to fit whatever the topic was that week. My list grew each week and the details around each idea began taking the shape of what would soon become the book.

I was seeking to shape and form my kids into the image of Christ so the title, Chisels came very naturally.
Truthfully, I have not even made it through all of these ideas with my own children. My list grew beyond the time we have had to meet. However, they also now have a book in their hands and can draw on these ideas outside of our little breakfast meetings.
Chisels is full of ideas that shape “Who We Are.”
I am currently working on a companion book called Arrows: Ideas that Impact the World. It’s about “What We Do” to impact the people around us. It will be released sometime in late 2026.
